Letter: Ocean Park man reunites couple with beloved Scotty

I greatly want to thank Gary Attwood of Ocean Park for his time and the thoughtfulness he took in finding and returning my little scotty dog, Scotty, to me Sunday night. Scotty had disappeared that afternoon and my husband and I looked all over for him. We did not locate him and we were worried sick. He has no fear of anyone or anything. He will approach any animal, even bears, will enter anyone’s home or vehicle. We just hoped he found humans and not animals or was lost.
But it was nightfall and Gary Attwood was coming home from the Eagles and noticed Scotty on Sandridge. Scotty followed Gary into his driveway and went right into Gary’s home. Gary noticed Scotty had a rabies tag on his collar and called the vet’s office in Seaview and gave them the tag number. Gary then posted flyers at Sentry and Jack’s stores in Ocean Park.
Late that evening the vet’s called me asking if Scotty was missing. They gave me Gary’s phone number and, yes, he had found our Scotty. As I am new to the area, I told Gary that I was new but would try to find his house, but Gary said don’t worry, I will deliver the little guy to you.
I want to thank Gary again and just thought, gee America would sure be a better place if we had more citzens like Gary. Thank you.
