Allison Paige Byers

LONG BEACH – Long Beach resident Allison Paige Byers, age 40, died at her home on Dec. 16, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Las Vegas, Nev., on Aug. 10, 1964, she was the daughter of Robert and Barbara (Strubing) Manley.
She attended and graduated from Westwood High School in Mesa, Ariz., and attended Mesa Community College where she studied art. She also received training as a nail technician while living in Arizona. Her working career was devoted to customer service both as a waitress and a nail technician.
She traveled from Arizona to Oregon and nearly three years ago came to the Long Beach Peninsula from Astoria. In March of 2003 she married James Byers who had moved to this area from Warrenton. The couple established their first home in Seaview.
Drawing pictures was her favorite hobby. She loved children, animals and her truck. She also enjoyed riding and showing horses, county fairs and attending her children’s sports activities. Camping outdoors and traveling were favorite activities. She and her husband enjoyed many weekend trips to Seattle where they always found something new or different to see and do.
Preceded in death by both her father and brother, Mrs. Byers is survived by her husband, James of Long Beach; mother Barbara Manley of Astoria; twin children Dustin and Heather Hankin; a niece and two nephews.
No public service is scheduled. Cremation arrangements by Penttila’s Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
