Alan Alexander Stuart

ASTORIA – Ocean Park resident Alan A. Stuart, 71, died Dec. 14, 2004, in Astoria. A native of Baltimore, Md., he was born Aug. 16, 1933, the only child of Alexander and Ziniada (Estchenko) Stuart. In his childhood the family moved to San Pedro, Calif. He returned to Baltimore where he attended and graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic High School.
In 1953 Mr. Stuart joined the United States Navy, became an engineman first class, and made the Navy a career. He was stationed in Hawaii for seven years and later in San Diego. Upon retirement he continued living in San Diego where he worked nine years as an engineer at a local hospital and also cared for his mother in her later years. He and his wife Jackie, whom he married Nov. 1, 1957, later purchased a recreational vehicle and traveled for 11 years making Gold Beach, Ore., their home base. When that wonderful experience ended they settled in the Surfside area of Ocean Park three years ago.
Mr. Stuart thoroughly enjoyed life. He loved camping and fishing and animals. He was a devoted husband and father as well.
Survivors include his wife Jacklyn of Ocean Park; daughter Robyn Stuart of Hallandale, Fla.; and sons Ronald Stuart of Exeter, R.I., and Russell Stuart of Ocean Park; and grandson Alex.
At his request, no formal service will held. Memorials may be made to the South Pacific County Humane Society, 330 Second St., Long Beach, WA 98631. Cremation arrangements by Penttila’s Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
