42nd Street Cafe in Seaview offers “Community Fund Night” to support local non-profitsSEAVIEW – The 42nd Street Cafe has committed one evening a month – the third Wednesday of each month October through May – to assist local non-profit organizations raising needed funds. Local organizations need to reserve the date in advance and have a representative in attendance the evening of the event to assist hosting and “passing the hat.” The 42nd Street Cafe will then donate 20 percent of the evening’s revenues to the sponsoring organization.
“We will donate 20 percent of any purchase that evening: a bowl of soup, a cheeseburger or a four course meal with wine or beer – even dinners to go,” said owner Blaine Walker. “The guest just needs to toss their receipt into the “Community Fund” bowl to have their purchase counted toward the charity or organization’s benefit.”
Remaining dates are limited. Half of the evenings are already reserved. The peninsula’s Humane Society has reserved Jan. 19. The Peninsula Visitors’ Center has reserved Feb. 16. The World Kite Museum has booked the third Wednesday in April.
Organizations wishing take advantage of this promotion should contact Blaine Walker at the 42nd Street Cafe at 642-2323.
