Do more than watch next time there’s a fire: Volunteer

PACIFIC COUNTY – Pacific County Fire District No. 1 is accepting applications for new volunteer firefighters. You only need the desire to help your community, and we will train you to be part of the Fire District No. 1 team. Once trained, you will respond with our team of emergency medical technicians, firefighters, and paramedics.
Applicants need be at least 18 years of age, a high school graduate or equivalent with a valid driver’s license, and pass the written and physical examination. The District will provide a free complete doctor’s exam.
Pacific County Fire District 1 covers approximately 30 square miles and serves a population of over 6,000. During 2004, Fire District No. 1 will respond to over 2400 fire and medical emergencies from one of our two staffed stations or six satellite stations.

Applications must be submitted no later than Dec. 31, to be considered for the 2005 Recruit Academy.
