NASELLE – A night of “Oldies, Classic, Folk, and Rock and Roll” music entertained an audience of music lovers on Wednesday, May 19, when the students of the Naselle Elementary School presented their annual music concert.

The “joint was jumpin’ from the git-go” with the opening “Rock Around the Clock” and “Hand Jive” by the third grade class, to the concluding “Goodnight Ladies” recorder duet by Keely McGuire and Tasha Stenvall. In between those bookend presentation, the boys and girls of the first through fourth grades, directed by Barbara Swanson, presented many of the “golden-oldies” which their parents and grandparents grew up with.

Prior to the final number, a rendition of “The Twist” called for audience participation. It is safe to say that taking part in that song got a few of the audience members’ joints and bones moving again.
