Ilwaco High School’s Concert and Jazz Bands went on tour at the end of last week, visiting Victoria, British Columbia and making stops at Arlington High School and Seattle along the way.

Director Brian Bergman and 38 students left Thursday for their annual concert tour. They performed admirably at Seattle Center House, Arlington High School, as part of an exchange where their performers will come to Ilwaco later in the school year, and at the Parliament Building in Victoria.

The students worked hard since September 2003 to perfect the numbers they performed and to raise money for the trip, which is the highlight of their band experience each year.

Those making the trek included Holly Bakker, Beth Beckerle, Brach Buchanan, Ali Daulton, Madeline Dickerson, Samantha Engel, Scott Fagerland, Peter Gaynor, Tara Hankins, and Gwen Gerke.

Also making the tour were Greg Gittel, CJ Hawkinson, Tom Hickman, Chris Hinojosa, Mike Huitt, Geoff and Lindsey Hylton, Luke and Meredith Jensen, and Kari Knutzen.

Stephen Loo, Ben Mazie, Jacob Moore, Alan Mossman, Bonnie Perez, Junior Talancon, Alex, Matt, and Brian Tarabochia, and Jenny VanOver the trip.

Rounding out the roster of the two bands were Ben Weidner, Jordan and Shayla Williams, Nicholas Wilson-Codega, Andrea Wolfe, Derek Yasunaka, Adam Yaun, and Rachael Zimmerman.
