Summerfest events

LONG BEACH – There are a number of great events scheduled as part of the city of Long Beach Summerfest event. Come down town and check them out!
Friday, Aug. 8
Tracie will have the kids arts and crafts studio at tent city from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; also Sharyel will roam the city with bubbles from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and performance artists Dance Praise will perform with a band on the big stage from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8.
Saturday, Aug. 9
Sonshine the clown will roam the streets from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Tracie will have an arts and crafts studio at tent city from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the “Jeffersonians” who play elegant classical music will perform in the gazebo from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Bubbles the bubble lady will roam the streets from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; the jazz band “Blues ‘n Bossa” will perform at the gazebo from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Karyn will have a kids arts and nature studio at tent city from noon to 5 p.m.; Christina will do face painting from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at tent city; Mimi will have a science display at tent city beginning at 6:30 p.m.; Lee Birchfield will perform as Elvis on the big stage from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.; and finally a theme movie will begin showing on the big stage from 9 p.m. to midnight. There are lots of great activities for everyone to enjoy.
Sunday, Aug. 10
Highlights: The musician Gillihan will perform four decades of rock from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the gazebo; Sharyel will be sharing bubbles around town from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; the homeschool choir performance and talent show will be held on the big stage from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
