PACIFIC COUNTY – Washington State University (WSU) Co-op Extension is looking for farms who sell directly to the public. The WSU Co-op Extension is updating the annual Farm Fresh Produce Guide for Pacific County.

The guide lists those farms having farm products for sale directly to the consumer. Twenty-five farms were listed on last year’s map advertising products ranging from blueberries to emu hides. The map is limited to listing only farms that grow produce or raise livestock for sale directly to the consumer. More than 2,000 copies of the guide are distributed each year through the WSU Cooperative Extension office, local Chambers of Commerce, libraries and other tourist facilities.

According to Don Tapio, WSU Extension agent, the guide continues to grow in popularity. In addition, it truly reflects the diversity and quality of our local agriculture industry. “You can’t get it any fresher than buying it right at the farm in which it was produced,” adds Tapio.

People wishing to be listed in this year’s Guide should call Liz McCollum at 934-8329, or the Extension office at 875-9331 to request an application form. The deadline to request a form for this year’s edition is Feb. 28.
