LONG BEACH – An interior upgrade will completely redo the grounds at Andersen’s RV Park and is set to begin Monday, Feb. 24, according to owner Lorna Andersen Follis.
“This project has been on the drawing board for almost five years,” said Follis. “To say I’m excited is an understatement.”
The work will include the widening of sites with beach theme landscaping, modernization of electrical layout, and new septic and drainage systems. Erik Fagerland and Associates will act as project manager.
Andersen’s, located west of Pacific Highway, 1/4 mile north of Cranberry Road, was built by Follis’ parents in the late 1960s. Camping vehicles in those days were mostly small trailers and pickups with camper tops, but today’s recreational vehicles are much larger and require more space, hence the widening of sites as part of the park’s improvements.
“My husband and I believe in this community,” said Follis. “We think this investment at this time is not only sound but appropriate considering the upcoming Lewis and Clark events and the increasing interest in this country in RVing.”
