Immunize your children against measles!

Measles is a highly contagious disease that once affected almost every child in the era before vaccines. Infants who caught measles had a mortality rate of 20% (meaning one in five died of the disease).

Although measles is now rare in the United States due to nationwide immunization programs, there were about 30 million cases and 777,000 deaths worldwide in 2001, mostly in the developing countries of Africa and Asia.
