SEAVIEW – George and Elaine Kant, both originally from South Dakota were married in Vancouver on Feb. 8, 1943.

George is a veteran of World War II and retired from Burlington Northern Railroad. Elaine worked at Montgomery Ward, Staceys and Esquire Dry Cleaners.

They are long-time members of the Clark County Saddle Club, Silver Spurs Trailriders, the Eagles, Elks, and American Legion. They enjoy traveling extensively especially if the destination is a polka festival.

Mr. and Mrs. Kant moved to Seaview from Vancouver four years ago to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and small town friendliness.

They couple have two daughters: Jeanette Thorpe of Seaview and Debra Kant of Vancouver; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
