The 2002 Winners of the Michele Easton Cartwright Memorial Award for Gardening Excellence are: Kathy Colvin, #9 Valley Street, Chinook; Josefine Gerkens, 30506 I Street, Ocean Park; Kathy and Don Williams, 2711 252nd Lane, Ocean Park; and Bill Gibson, 7104 Ortelius Dr., Ilwaco.

In addition to the winners, other nominees were: Tony and Judy Stoddard, 238th Ocean Park; and Karen Clarke, 15600 Sandridge Road, Long Beach.

The winners and nominees represent the complete list of gardens for which a written nomination was received for this year’s awards. John and Cheri Grocott of 308 Spruce Street, Ilwaco were also nominated by a member of the Green Angel Gardening Staff.

A special award goes to Mr. and Mrs. Worthington of 6906 Sandridge Road for their 46 years of gardening on the same piece of land, growing food, flowers, seeds and enormous good will.
